Riley’s Farm Reflection
We went to Riley’s farm and I had a fun experience. What I thought was fun about it was that we had a little competition and that whoever had the most shillings would get a caramel apple in each class. Also that we had to do some activities that kids used to do back then. Our town was called Portsmouth and while I was in line our captain said to Brett and Ernie that “I do not like you,” in a British accent. Then he said to me “Do you know them,” and I said “Yes,” and he said back “My apologizes.” After he said that we all started to laugh.
So our first group was the judge and his name was Augt Moody. The person that was guilty was Kendall because she was loading iron on a train that was Brenda’s. The captain which was Even and the owner that was Brenda was proving that Kendall was guilty. Deanna was Kendall’s lawyer but the judge was saying if they were related and they both said “No.” So then the judge kept on saying that all of them were guilty. Out of nowhere he said Maria was guilty because she was just smiling.
Then we got to go to the next group which was about manners. So what it was about was who made the manners which was George Washington. Then we had to see what the person was doing wrong and we answered everything right. Then someone said that “You forgot to lift your pinky out when you're drinking," but that was only for fancy people which meant that it was too precise. The funny part was at the end because Brett and Kendall had to dance. So then we went to the next group but what we learned about was stuff about war.
The other group was about what kids back then played. One game was with a hoop and a stick which helped you with your strategy for your balance. The next one was about a ball that you had to launch in the air and hit it with the bat and someone had to catch it and whoever caught it would launch the ball next. The last game was with two sticks and a hoop which was my favorite and what you would do was put the sticks through the hoop and cross them and then launch it to the other person and would have to catch it. So me and Leah played my favorite one.
All the people saved the best for the last. At the last of our field trip we did a war. We were the Americans and we were on the wall and we used sticks as guns. We were the ones that survived and the other team died and we won. Then at the end the showed us a battle plan and it looked like a happy face. Then we left and went back to school.
Rotation Experience Bar
So what we did were some rotations but I already knew that we were going to be doing something about the government because my brother told me but, this is also about how I felt in each class also we did a bar graph of how many people liked the class that did a type of government.
Ms.YoungIn Ms.Young's class I felt happy because we got to read and we got candy. She made us VOTE on what we wanted to do and most of us picked reading. The government was Democracy because we got to vote.
|
Ms.LieuMs. Lieu gave us money if we picked up more than 20 pieces of trash .If you talked she took away $100.She let us sit wherever we wanted to sit.I felt nervous and made sure I did not talk. The government was Dictatorship because we got what we wanted if we did what she said.
|
Ms.WoodsMs.Woods took away our writing utensils and split our candy and money. She kept our writing utensils and gave us pencils.I felt MAD because she took away my FOUR GEL PENS that worked and split our MONEY and candy equally and I had 5 pieces because I gave Ms.Young a tamale and I had 2,615 dollars and lost more that $1,500.
